Dharma & CultureVenom in the Mouths of Modi and His Sycophants at Kedarnath

Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached Kedarnath for the fourth time, yet it comes as no surprise that the dharma-opposing Hindus are the ones objecting to this the most; some are having diarrhea, others vomiting. That a devotee going to worship his ishta devata (chosen deity) at his own sacred site should become an object of scorn and contempt from his own co-religionists is possible only in an ignorant community. In truth, having grown accustomed for years to seeing their leaders in mosques and churches, even when draping themselves in the garb of staunch Hindus, their suppressed hatred for temples erupts like bleeding hemorrhoids. How much those who brand Modi a charlatan truly value Hindu karmakanda (ritual procedures) and sadhana (spiritual practice) in their personal lives requires no elaborate examination. To the atheists who dismiss Modi's tapasya (austerity) as pretense and hypocrisy, and to the Hinduists who treat the shastras (sacred scriptures) as trash, Modi's sadhana-bala (spiritual power born of discipline) is unbearable, just as the brilliance of the sun is unbearable to mosquitoes. Modi's entire life bears witness to his tapasya; so profound a rajayoga (auspicious planetary combination denoting sovereignty) does not bear fruit just like that. Kedarnath

Just recently, Modi gave an interview to Akshay Kumar—though to those of ridiculous intellect, even in the eye of a needle, a vagina can be seen. In the interview, Modi recounted that during the five days of Diwali, he used to retreat into caves in desolate forests and fast drinking only water—subsisting solely on water. For specialized sadhana, Deepawali ranks among the four supreme tantric nights of the year; these are: Holi — Daruna Ratri (the night of dread), Diwali — Kala Ratri (the night of time and dissolution), Shivaratri — Maha Ratri (the great night), Janmashtami — Moha Ratri (the night of delusion). At a time like Deepawali, when everyone in North India wishes to partake in festive rejoicings with family, could any ordinary person or charlatan even conceive of undertaking sadhana? Sadhana is no wild weed; it is a blossom matured through years of patient nurturing.
You might have seen that Modi wore black garments and a rudraksha mala during his holy bath at Prayagraj, for which he was severely criticized. Would a Modi who never hesitates to don the traditional attire of diverse cultures ranging from Tripura to Arunachal be ignorant of North Indian notions regarding black clothing? Yet no such action of Modi's is ever taken without profound deliberation. The secret behind Modi bathing in black garments that day is that Modi is a Shaiva, which is why he is most frequently seen visiting Shiva temples. Though less prevalent in North India, black attire is mandatory during periods of sadhana across numerous temples in the South, including the Sabarimala temple. In Rameswaram and various other Shaiva shrines in the South, sadhakas (spiritual practitioners) enter wearing black, and Modi's devotion to Mahadeva is hidden from no one—though those who believe have, on this account, considered Mahadeva Himself as an enemy! Kedarnath

In that same interview, Modi shared that the secret behind his sleeping only three and a half hours lies in his 20-year period of sadhana. He said that what he practiced for 20–22 years formed this permanent habit. In the Yogasutras, nidra (sleep) is designated as a mala (impurity). Sleeping only three and a half hours is something only a yogi can sustain; is there any undisciplined person who can feel fully restored with just three and a half hours of sleep? One whose chitta (mind-stuff) has an excess of tamas (inertia) requires more sleep, whereas yoga sadhana purifies the chitta, thereby reducing the requirement for sleep. Just as Arjuna is called Gudakesha because he conquered sleep. Everyone is already well aware of Modi's Navaratri fasts. When Akshay Kumar asked what he does when afflicted by a cold, Modi replied that he simply fasts while drinking warm water. Yet people who grin and drool at the sight of a pizza presume to lecture Modi on dharma. Kedarnath
Whether Modi visits the Ram Mandir or not is his private matter; merely visiting will not accomplish everything. Prime Minister Modi is following entirely in the footsteps of Atal Bihari ji, who himself visited Ayodhya for the first time only in 2003 upon the demise of Mahant Ramchandra Das ji, and even then did not visit Shri Ram Janmabhoomi. Throughout the entire Janmabhoomi movement spanning two decades, Atal ji never once went to Ayodhya. Did that turn Atal ji into an adversary of Ram? One might understand political constraints during a coalition government, but when he did not visit Ayodhya for 15 years prior to that, was he some Ram-opposing Kalanemi? A temple should be constructed at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi quickly, but not at the expense of Hindutva—a subject on which I have already written a comprehensive essay. The Janmabhoomi is not dependent upon any Modi; it will rise from that irresistible surge when even a squirrel begins mixing mortar with its tail.
Today, perhaps after centuries, a ruler is performing sadhana for the sake of the nation; at the age of 70, without fatigue, without pause, after relentless campaigning, he has arrived straight at Kedarnath, and yet some people take issue with photographs. The representative of 1.25 billion people cannot lead an exclusively private life. By taking initial photos, Modi became a hypocrite; and if he did not show photos, Hindus with the intellect of the washerman of the Ramayana era would have beaten their chests and observed a Muharram of 'proof, proof!' A king's life does not belong to the king; Chandragupta's anguish was entirely justified. When the public conscience of a nation is so degraded that a drunkard swigging liquor heaps curses upon the Prime Minister for seeking darshana at Kedarnath, then destiny is already offering such a people an alternative far better than they deserve. Kedarnath

After enduring tens of millions of abuses, braving conspiracies and allegations, breathing an unprecedented surge of vitality into a nation of 1.25 billion people that was sinking into despair, and rescuing crores of Hindus from an inferiority complex, if Modi has secured an absolute majority and boundless renown, the blessings of Baba Vishwanath are assuredly behind it. For whom Shiva saves, who can kill? And this very blessing of Mahakala has become an existential crucible of life and death for his adversaries and Modi's so-called own people alike.
Har Har Mahadev
Jai Shri Ram
