Planetary Position in the Kundali of Independent India

Jyotish (astrology) is a complex science in itself. Even within it, medini jyotish (mundane astrology) is extremely difficult. While someone might master a personal kundali (birth chart) after spending a great deal of time, no one can claim complete command over medini jyotish. The reason for this is that medini jyotish studies the impact of changing planetary positions on the entire world. For this, accurate individual charts for every country and its states are required. Alongside this, the correct charts of the nation's important politicians are needed. Furthermore, the astrologer is expected to have a deep understanding of international issues. India's chart

Finding all these elements together is a very difficult task. Take America as an example. Most American astrologers themselves consider Gemini to be America's ascendant, some consider Sagittarius, while others consider Scorpio. Yet, Indian astrologers have made numerous successful predictions about America treating Taurus as its ascendant. Because of these contradictions, no astrologer wants to waste time analyzing charts for global astrology.

I, too, usually stay away from this subject. However, whenever I analyze a personal kundali, numerous friends—from comments to the inbox—start asking questions about India and elections. They fail to understand that there is a vast difference between the two. In a personal kundali, examining just one native's chart is sufficient, but for India's chart, it is necessary to simultaneously analyze the charts of independent India, its current states, and all their key leaders.

Let us attempt to understand the current planetary positions in the cosmos from the perspective of independent India's chart. India's kundali has a Vrishabha (Taurus) ascendant with exalted Rahu sitting in it. Even though this Rahu has provided Indians with ample employment opportunities abroad in computers and related fields, non-Hindu communities have thoroughly dominated the country's politics ever since independence and have continuously blackmailed those in power to serve their own interests. As a consequence, the majority Hindu society has remained a victim of relative deprivation.

भारत की कुण्डली

Five planets—Surya (Sun), Shani (Saturn), Budha (Mercury), Shukra (Venus), and Chandra (Moon)—are seated together in Karka (Cancer) in the third house of independent India's chart. Just recently, on July 13, 2018, a solar eclipse occurred, and another solar eclipse is soon to take place on August 11, 2018. This solar eclipse is happening in this very same Karka rashi, where India's five natal planets are seated. Although both these solar eclipses are partial and will not be visible in India, their shadow is nonetheless falling upon our Earth. Just now, on Guru Purnima, July 27, 2018, the longest and total lunar eclipse of the 21st century is set to occur in Makara (Capricorn), directly opposite this Karka rashi, where exalted Mangal (Mars) is seated. Eclipses occurring on both the Sun and the Moon within a fortnight are not considered auspicious.

Mangal generally transits through a rashi (sign) for a month and a half. If it stays in a single rashi for five months in any given year, it creates a situation of tension that year, and if under heavy malefic influence, it generates war or war-like conditions. In 1971, Mangal remained situated in Makara for six months, which played a monumental role in separating Bangladesh from Pakistan. This year, Mangal will remain situated in Makara for six months, from May 2, 2018, to November 6, 2018. Mangal is seated here along with Ketu.

Makara rashi falls in the ninth house of India's chart. This means Mangal, sitting here, will afflict the five planets in the third house with its seventh aspect. The partial solar eclipse forming in Karka rashi on August 11, 2018, and the total lunar eclipse on July 27, 2018, forming right in this Makara rashi, are both heavily under the influence of the exalted and aggressive Mangal. On the day of this lunar eclipse, Surya and Rahu will be very close in degrees, and Chandra, Mangal, and Ketu will also be very close in degrees. At this time, the planet Mangal will also be quite close to the Earth. Starting July 18, all planets in the firmament have also come to one side of Rahu and Ketu, creating a Kaal Sarp Yoga. Guru (Jupiter) is in Tula (Libra) in Rahu's nakshatra (constellation) Swati, and Shani is in Dhanu (Sagittarius) in Ketu's nakshatra Mula. Both Mangal and Shani are retrograde.

All these conditions point towards political and religious frenzy. Mangal, as the lord of the seventh house, is seated with Ketu in the ninth house. The seventh house represents opponents, and its lord, being exalted and situated with Ketu, indicates that the opposition will stop at nothing, driven by frenzy, to commit reckless acts. The ninth house also represents the Supreme Court. Along with this, it represents dharma and temples. The eclipse over the exalted Mangal and Ketu here could prompt the Supreme Court to deliver a verdict on the Ram Mandir.

Shani is in Dhanu rashi, which is the ninth house of the Kalpurusha chart. Shani is also the significator of justice and is currently transiting through Ketu's nakshatra, pointing towards a religious judgment. The ninth house is also looked at for professors. Presently, the UGC has sent notices to all universities and postponed interviews nationwide until the Supreme Court's final decision regarding the roster. New joining appointments can now take place only after resolving the dispute of the 13-point and 200-point reservation systems for the recruitment of assistant professors in universities. This decision by the Supreme Court will be a historic and landmark judgment because it will serve as the basis for reservation in professor appointments in the future. There is massive tension among teachers and teachers' associations on this issue as well.

Currently, Shani is transiting through Ketu's Mula nakshatra in Dhanu rashi. Following this, Shani will transit through Shukra's Purvashada nakshatra in this very same rashi. Dhanu rashi falls in the eighth house from Vrishabha, India's ascendant. This is not an auspicious position. Under such conditions, considerable upheaval takes place in India, especially when Shani transits through Purvashada nakshatra, which belongs to Shukra, the lord of the ascendant, in Dhanu rashi. Just a few months ago, Shani and Mangal were together in Dhanu rashi. Across the country, the opposition was inciting public anger to instigate riots under the guise of Dalit protests. Under this specific planetary alignment, for the first time in the history of India's Supreme Court, four judges of the Supreme Court held a press conference against the Chief Justice of India, blackening India's honor worldwide.

Whenever Guru transits through Vrishabha, India's ascendant rashi, alongside this position of Shani, massive changes take place in the central government. Guru's transit over Rahu in Vrishabha rashi is not favorable for the ruling party because Guru becomes the eighth lord in the Vrishabha ascendant and begins to afflict the ascendant. In independent India's chart, the jiva-karaka (significator of life) Guru is in Tula rashi. The eighth house from Guru falls in Vrishabha rashi, where Rahu is seated. Guru's transit over Rahu in the eighth house from its natal position causes the ruling party to be ousted from power.

Fortunately, however, such a condition does not exist right now. Presently, in independent India's chart, the antardasha (sub-period) of Guru has begun within the mahadasha (main period) of Chandra. On October 13, 2018, Guru will enter Vrishchika (Scorpio) and bestow its auspicious aspect upon the ascendant. Guru will transit over India's natal Ketu in Vrishchika rashi. Ketu is the dharma-dhvaja (banner of righteousness), so Guru at this time will stand in favor of the saffron flag. Sitting here, it will empower the five natal planets of independent India sitting in the third house by casting its ninth auspicious aspect upon them. At the same time, with its fifth aspect, it will aspect its own sign Meena (Pisces) in the eleventh house, paving the way for victory for the ruling party.
