Savarkar and Golwalkar on Hindu Sangathan and Casteism

Kesari Singh Suryavanshi · English edition 18 October 2026 · Hindi original 11 July 2021 · 1 min read

Read both statements on jati (caste) and Hindu sangathan (organization) carefully and understand the difference.

1. "Until jati-bhav (caste-consciousness) is eliminated among Hindus, Hindu sangathan and Hindu jagran (awakening) are impossible."
- Veer Savarkar

2. "If the Hindu becomes awakened, he will automatically become organized and will respond to the challenge of jati-bhed (caste distinction) exceedingly well!"
- Guru Golwalkar

Veer Savarkar laid down the condition of ending jati-bhed for Hindu sangathan and Hindu abhyutthan (resurgence); had we waited for that, we would have given up in despair long ago. It was due to such subtle ideological differences that the Sangh never followed behind the Hindu Mahasabha.

Revered Shri Veer Savarkar was undoubtedly a very great revolutionary, but the ideological adhisthan (foundation) of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh does not depend on him. Revered Shri Guruji Golwalkar was a rishi (seer) of a very high order. He was the greatest thinker of the past century. We are living in the era of the implementation of the second statement. This is the conviction of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, walking upon which we have reached this point. Without any concern for political gain, the Sangh continuously worked for Hindu jagran, and today the situation is such that even though only a tiny fraction of it has awakened, it is defeating monumental challenges.

Yudhishthira: Sovereign Emperor and Builder of Hindu Rashtra

Given the controversies often seen regarding Yudhishthira and others, we must look to the Mahabharata itself to determine whether Yudhishthira and the other Pandavas were powerful in their own right and embodiments of dharma (righteousness), or if, according to modern propaganda, they were merely dependent on the mercy of Shri Krishna. For the sages repeatedly call him Dharmaraj, and their words cannot be false.
